Since August, [SCORPIONS] took a sabbatical, and I can’t sit on my flat ass and not play drums for six or seven months. We start March 16 in Mexico. That’s a long time to not play, so I thought, “All right.” Dee discussed MOTÖRHEAD’s farewell tour, which ended on December 11, 2015, barely two weeks before Lemmy’s passing, in an interview with Chaoszine in Finland. Mikkey said: “Lemmy was thrilled. He enjoyed this. We were struggling, I remember. Sick Lemmy. He was worn. No one could pull him off the road. Phil and I agreed to take a break. Back to Lemmy’s hometown of Los Angeles, recover, eat, and resume the European tour. He replied, “No, no, no, no.” Play!’ ‘Okay.’ Phil and I replied, ‘Instead of arguing with Lemmy, trying to get him off the road, let’s just help him.’ We had to change a lot for the shows, but I think we and him performed great. Two weeks after the last Berlin event on December 11, the man is gone. I and Phil put in 150 percent, and Lemmy must have put in 300 percent to finish the set.” Dee was asked if he and Campbell would perform MOTÖRHEAD music together, with someone playing Lemmy’s parts. He replied: “Never know. Phil and I wrote excellent music. Yet he’s entirely committed to his boys. I’m quite involved with SCORPIONS. We tour often. Not right now, but the SCORPS is always traveling. So I don’t say no—there are options. However, as I discussed in a podcast, some individuals misunderstood this, or the press printed the wrong things. I declared, “We will never reunite and replace Lemmy.” That’s impossible. ‘But doing tiny constellations, doing some homage stuff, that’s amazing.’ That’s very different. Somebody stated, ‘Mikkey will never play MOTÖRHEAD again.’ That was Blabbermouth’s headline. That’s not what I said.
